Ingredients to make Methi Dal

  • To Pressure Cook
  • 1/4 cup moong dal
  • 1/4 cup Tuvr dal
  • 2 tomatoes medium
  • turmeric powder
  • For dal
  • oil 2 tsp
  • onion 1 chopped
  • green chillies 2-3
  • ginger
  • garlic 3 cloves
  • curry leaves
  • methi 2 bunch
  • salt
  • coriander leaves
  • For tadka
  • oil 1 tbsp
  • jeera
  • garlic cloves 3
  • curry leaves

How to make Methi Dal

  1. ADD 1/4 CUP MOONG AND TUVR DAL IN PRESSURE COOKER
  2. RINSE DAL. ADD TURMERIC POWDER AND REQUIRED WATER
  3. ADD 2 CHOPPED TOMATOES. PRESSURE COOK FOR 5 WHISTLES
  4. USE FRESH METHI LEAVES
  5. ADD OIL IN KADAI. ADD 1 CHOPPED ONION
  6. ADD 2 SLIT GREEN CHILLIES
  7. ADD FINELY CHOPPED GINGER AND GARLIC
  8. ADD CURRY LEAVES AND SAUTE
  9. ADD CLEANED METHI LEAVES
  10. ADD PRESSURE COOKED DAL
  11. ADD SALT
  12. TURN OFF FLAME AT THIS STAGE
  13. FOR TADKA, ADD OIL, JEERA, GREEN CHILLIES AND CURRY LEAVES
  14. GARNISH WITH CORIANDER LEAVES AND ADD TADKA
