About Curry Leaves Chicken Curry Recipe

I was always one fussy kid when it was about eating greens, especially on days when I was down with a bad health. And like every other mom, Maa would also try all tricks up her sleeves to make her child eat something nutritious food for a speedy recovery. This is one such recipe that my mom would always make when I have cold and fever and now that I am grown up and I stay away from home, words fall short to describe how much I miss this recipe of Maa.

Curry Leaves Chicken Curry

Ingredients to make Curry Leaves Chicken Curry

  • chicken 750gms
  • Juice of tender curry leaves 3cups
  • ginger Garlic paste 2 tablespoon
  • green chilly 4 slited
  • onions 2 large
  • cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  • bay leaves 1
  • Black pepper 1tablespoon
  • lemon juice 2tablespoon
  • mustard oil 2tbsp
  • turmeric 1 tspn
  • salt to taste

How to make Curry Leaves Chicken Curry

  1. In blender, grind 3 to 4 handful of curry leaves and filter the juice out and keep aside
  2. Heat the oil to smoking point and Temper with bay leaves and cumin seeds.
  3. Add onion and green chilly and fry untill onion is translucent.
  4. Add ginger garlic paste, stir well. Let it cook untill the raw aroma of the spices disappears
  5. Add the chicken, salt and turmeric. Stir well so that the meat and the added spices are properly coated. Cook on medium heat till the chicken is 80% done
  6. Add the curry leaves juice and simmer on low flame till the chicken is almost done or the gravy has almost attained the right consistency
  7. Add the black pepper and cook for 2 to 3 more mins or untill the gravy has finally attained the desired consistency
  8. Squueze in some lime and serve hot

My Tip:

Since it raw mango time, instead of lime juice 1have added 2tablespoon of grated raw mango before adding the black pepper
