ABOUT Medu vada RECIPE

Medu vadas are traditional south indian dish. Which can be served as side dish, snake or main course. These donut shape vadas are criapy outside and soft inside, goes well with cocnut chutney and hot sambar. Whenever we would go to any any indian or kerala restaurants in Jubail (Saudi Arabia) i would order either vada sambar or masala dosa.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup urad daal
  2. 1 chopped onion
  3. 3 chopped green chilli
  4. Chopped coriander leaves
  5. 5 chopped curry leaves
  6. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Soak urad daal over night, discard water n grind to make a smooth paste.
  2. Now add chopped onion, green chilli, chopped coriander, chopped curry leaves, salt and pepper..
  3. Take small size mixture n make boll, press gently with palm and then make hole in centre.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, and fry vadas on medium heat till golden brown.
  5. Drain vadas on kitchen tissue to remove access oil.
  6. Serve hot with with coconut chutney n hot sambar.
