Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Dates - 50 gm
  2. Ginger 1 chopped finely
  3. Garlic 7 pods
  4. Tamarind- small ball size
  5. Green chili - 5
  6. Curry leaves- few
  7. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  8. Chilli powder- 2 tsp
  9. Salt - 2 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  11. Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
  12. Jaggery - 1 tbsp
  13. Coconut oil - 5 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Take coconut oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds, Fenugreek seeds, curry leaves to splutter and add green chillies.
  2. Meanwhile soak tamarind in hot water and extract pulp.
  3. Add chopped ginger and garlic to the kadai and saute well.
  4. Add chopped dates to it and add the tamarind pulp and required salt and cook till it gets mushy.
  5. Finally add Jaggery and once the oil starts separating from kadai remove and cool and serve. store in airtight container for future use.
