ABOUT Palak Paneer RECIPE

Palak paneer is a gravy in which paneer is added to a thick palak gravy seasoned with spices. This dish goes well with roti, naan and rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Palak 1/2 bunch if too big or 1 bunch
  2. Paneer 1 cup
  3. Onion 1 medium sized
  4. Green chilli 2
  5. Ginger 1/2"
  6. Garlic 4-5 pods
  7. Jeera 1/2 tsp
  8. Oil 2 tbsp
  9. Red chilli powder 1/2tsp
  10. Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
  11. Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  12. Kasuri methi 1/2tsp
  13. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Firstly we need to blanch the palak.
  2. In a vessel bring water to boil. Now add the palak and boil for 3-4 mins. Immediately add the palak to ice cold water to retain the green color of the palak.
  3. Now make a puree of blanched palak, ginger, garlic, onion and green chilli.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai. Add jeera.
  5. When jeera splutters add the palak puree and keep stirring till the raw smell goes.
  6. At this stage add all the spice powders, Turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt to taste.
  7. Add the paneer pieces and garam masala. Simmer for 4-5 till the masala is absorbed by the paneer.
  8. Finally add the kasuri methi.
  9. Serve hot with Chapati, roti, or rice.
