Prawn Malai Curry

Ingredients to make Prawn Malai Curry

  • Prawns (cleaned and peeled) - 12
  • Chopped onion - 1
  • Chopped tomatoes - 1
  • ginger Paste - 1 tsp
  • garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon + cloves + cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • coconut milk - 1 cup
  • salt
  • sugar
  • Refined oil

How to make Prawn Malai Curry

  1. Heat a kadhai, add refined oil then add the chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown in colour.
  2. Add the tomatoes, followed by the ginger-garlic paste and all the spices with a little salt. Cook on a low flame till the masala leaves the oil.
  3. Add the prawns and cook it covered with a lid till the prawns are cooked.
  4. Finally add coconut milk and sugar, bring it to boil till you achieve the required thick consistency and serve.
