ABOUT Sura Puttu (Shark Puttu) RECIPE

Sura puttu is a very tasty and famous Tamilnadu dish made with Shark fish which is called Sura Meen in Tamil. At first its very new to me didn't even hear the dish name before my hubby only introduced the recipe which he loves a lot:hearts: Residing in Saudi Arabia.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Shark fish - 1/4 kg
  2. Chopped onions - 1/4 cup
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  4. Grated coconut - 2 tablespoon
  5. Chilly powder - 1 teaspoon
  6. Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  7. Curry leaves few
  8. Green chilies - 1 split
  9. Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Oil as per requirement
  11. Salt as per taste
  12. Coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Rinse and clean the fish well.
  2. In a pan cook the fish, turmeric powder and required salt with enough water.
  3. Once it cooked discard the bones and skin. Shred the cooked flesh and keep it aside.
  4. Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds and curry leaves let it splutter.
  5. Then add green chilly and onions saute for few minutes.
  6. Add ginger garlic paste and saute well.
  7. Then add the shredded fish and chill powder keep sauteing until no moisture left.
  8. Once it becomes blended well add the grated coconut and keep sauteing for few more minutes.
  9. Finally, garnish with coriander leaves and remove from the flame.
