ABOUT Jute Leaf Fritters /Paat Patar Bora RECIPE

These fritters are served hot and crispy just like pakoras, it goes well as an afternoon snack or you can serve it along with rice and dal as well.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Jute Leaf /Paat pata - 1 Bunch
  2. Gram Flour/Besan - 1 Cup
  3. Rice Flour (চালের গুড়ো) - 5 Tbsp
  4. Chilli Powder - According to Taste
  5. Salt - according to taste
  6. Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Tsp
  7. Kalo Jeera / Nigella Seed - 1/4 Tsp
  8. Water
  9. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Use only the leaves and discard the stems. Wash the jute leaves properly, then drain and leave aside for a while until it's dry.
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients together (except the jute leaves). Add enough water to make a thick paste.
  3. Heat oil in a kadhai or pan to deep fry.
  4. Take 3-4 leaves together, coat it well in the gram flour mixture. Now drop it into the hot oil and deep fry on a medium heat.
  5. Fry till both sides turn light brown in color.
  6. Serve hot.
