ABOUT Dhaba style paneer masala RECIPE

Dhaba style paneer masala is unique and is enriched with strong aroma. It is a common Indian dhaba recipe. I always try this dish whenever I go to any dhaba. I usually serve it with plain roti and onion salad but I enjoy it more with butter nun in dhaba. Some dhaba use kasuri methi. But today's receipe has been prepared sans kasuri methi. I usually serve it with plain roti and onion salad.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Paneer cubes - 200 grams
  2. Finely chopped onion - 1 cup
  3. Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tsp
  4. Red chilli paste - 1 tsp
  5. Kashmiri red mirch powder - 1tbsp
  6. Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  8. Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  9. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  10. Yogurt - 1/2 cup
  11. Tomato puree - 2 tbsp
  12. Finely chopped coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
  13. Crushed Cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  14. Crushed cardamom - 1/2 tsp
  15. Crushed cloves - 1 tsp
  16. Bay leaf - 1
  17. Salt - As required
  18. Oil - 2 tbsp
  19. Ghee - 2 tbsp
  20. For fry :- Oil - 4 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate the paneer cubes with salt, turmeric powder, kashmiri mirch powder, garam masala for half an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add paneer cubes and fry until both sides are brown.
  4. Keep aside.
  5. Heat oil in a pan.
  6. Add ghee on it.
  7. Add bay leaf, crushed cinnamon-cardamom-cloves for seasoning.
  8. Add chopped onion and saute till brown.
  9. Add ginger-garlic-red chilli paste and saute for 1 minute.
  10. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir for sometime.
  11. Cover the lid for 3 minutes.
  12. When water separates, add the fried paneer cubes.
  13. Stir gently on a low flame for sometime.
  14. Garnish with coriander leave before serving.
