ABOUT Tamarind gojju RECIPE

Tamarind gojju is sweet and sour. You can preserve it for a month without refrigerator. It is good relish with plain rice, chapatis, idlies and so on.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Tamarind 100 gms
  2. Water 1/4 ltr
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Cooking oil 2 tsp
  5. Urad dal 1 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  7. Curry leaves few
  8. Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  9. Pepper powder 1 tsp
  10. Ginger crushed 1 tsp
  11. Jaggery 1/2 cup
  12. Cinnamon stick 1 inch

Instructions

  1. STRAIN 2 HOURS SOAKED TAMARIND
  2. SQUEEZE AND STRAIN
  3. HEAT COOKING OIL 2 TSP, ADD URAD DAL AND MUSTARD SEEDS EACH 1 TSP
  4. AFTER SPLUTTER ADD CURRY LEAVES FEW
  5. TURMERIC POWDER 1/2 TSP
  6. ADD TURMERIC SQUEEZED WATER
  7. SALT TO TASTE
  8. RED CHILLI POWDER 2 TSP
  9. PEPPER POWDER 1 TSP
  10. CINNAMON STICK 1"
  11. JAGGERY POWDERED 1/2 CUP
  12. GINGER CRUSHED 1 TSP
  13. BRING IT TO BOIL FINELY
  14. SAUTE AND ALLOW IT TO BOIL UNTIL THICKNESS, TURN OFF THE FLAME AND ALLOW IT TO COOL.
