ABOUT Phirni RECIPE

A traditionl dessert for eid and easy to make. Most popular sweet dish in India. Phirni make with milk and rice and lots of dry fruits. My kid's all time favourite dish. Everyone love this authentic homemade sweet.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Milk 1 litr
  2. Rice 1/4th cup
  3. Sugar 3/4th cup
  4. Chopped almonds 7-8
  5. Kewra essence 1/2 tsp
  6. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. WASH 1/4TH CUP RICE & SOAK FOR 3-4 MINUTES.
  2. PAT DRY USING CLEAN CLOTH.
  3. GRIND COARSELY
  4. LIKE SEMOLIYA TEXTURE.
  5. BOIL 1 LITR MILK IN A HEAVY BOTTOMED PAN.
  6. STIR CONTINUOUSLY.
  7. ADD COARSELY GROWNED RICE. COOK ON SIM FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES TILL MILK STARTS GETTING CREAMY.
  8. KEEP STIRRING OCCASIONALLY TO PREVENT STICKING AT BOTTOM.
  9. ADD 3/4 CUP SUGAR.
  10. COOK FOR MORE 10 MINUTES TILL IT GETS THICK.
  11. LET IT BOIL ON LOW FLAME.
  12. KEEP STIRRING
  13. NOW SWITCH OFF FLAME.
  14. ADD 1/4 TSP CARDAMOM POWDER.
  15. MIX WELL.
  16. ADD 1/2 TSP KEWRA ESSENCE 1/2 TSP.
  17. TRANSFER TO SERVING BOWL. GARNISH WITH CHOPPED ALMONDS.
  18. PLACE IT IN FREEZ.
  19. SERVE CHILLED.
