ABOUT Roomali Roti RECIPE

Punjabi paper thin roti which tastes better with spicy gravy. If required substitute half of maida with half of wheat flour to make it bit nutritious

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups flour+ additional for dusting
  2. 3/4 cup warm milk
  3. salt
  4. 2 tsp +1 tsp oil
  5. 1 tsp salt in 1 cup water- Salt water

Instructions

  1. ADD FLOUR, SALT, OIL AND MILK IN A BOWL. KNEAD FOR 15 MINUTES TO FORM SMOOTH SOFT DOUGH
  2. COAT WITH OIL. COVER AND KEEP IT ASIDE FOR 30 MINUTES
  3. KNEAD DOUGH FOR FEW MINUTES
  4. DIVIDE IN EQUAL PORTIONS
  5. ROLL ROTI AS THIN AS POSSIBLE, SHAKE OFF EXCESS FLOUR
  6. HEAT KADAI FOR 2 MINUTES
  7. INVERT KADAI ON FLAME, SPRINKLE SALT WATER
  8. ROLL OVER THE ROTI USING ROLLING PIN
  9. PLACE ON HOT INVERTED KADAI, COOK UNTIL BUBBLES
  10. FLIP ROTI, PRESS AND COOK
  11. EDGES SHOULD BE COOKED
  12. FOLD THE ROTI IMMEDIATELY
  13. SERVE HOT WITH SPICY GRAVY
