Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Yellow moong dal - 2 cups
  2. Basmati rice - 4 cups
  3. Chopped veggies - 2 cups ( I used potato , carrots , peas , capsicum , brinjal )
  4. Tomato - 2 no chopped
  5. Dried red chilli - 4 no
  6. Bay leaf - 2 no
  7. Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  8. Coriander seeds - 1 teaspoon
  9. Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
  10. Mustard oil - 2 tablespoons
  11. Whole garam masala - 1 teaspoon
  12. Ginger - 2"
  13. salt to taste
  14. Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. DRY ROAST 2 CUP OF YELLOW MOONG DAL
  2. WASH ROASTED MOONG DAL AND 4 CUP OF BASMATI RICE
  3. MAKE A PASTE GINGER , CUMIN AND CORIANDER SEEDS
  4. HEAT 2 TABLESPOONS MUSTARD OIL ADD 4 NO OF WHOLE CHILLI AND 1 TEASPOON CUMIN SEEDS
  5. ADD 2 LARGE CHOPPED TOMATOES AND 2 BAY LEAF
  6. FRY IT 2 MINUTES
  7. ADD CHOPPED VEGGIES LIKE CUBES POTATO , PEAS , CARROTS , CAPSICUM AND CAULIFLOWER AND BRINJAL
  8. FRY IT FOR 8 - 10 MINUTES
  9. ADD MASALA PASTE
  10. NOW ADD FEW CORIANDER LEAVES
  11. ADD ALL THE MASALA INTO THE RICE DAL MIXED PAN
  12. MIX IT WELL AND ADD 8 CUP OF WATER AND MIX WELL
  13. COOK IT FOR 15 - 20 MINUTES
  14. MIX IT GENTLY AND SERVE HOT
