Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Tuwar dal - 1 cup
  2. Water - 2cups
  3. Tomatoes - 5
  4. Red chillies - 4
  5. Green chillies - 5
  6. Garlic cloves - 5
  7. Mustard seeds, - 1 tsp
  8. Cumin - 1 tsp
  9. Asfotedia - pinch
  10. Oil - 2 tbsp
  11. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. WASH AND CHOP 5 TOMATOES
  2. WASH AND SOAK 1 CUP TUWAR DAL. ADD THE CHOPPED TOMATOES AND PRESSURE COOK FOR 3 WHISTLES.
  3. RELEASE PRESSURE AND MASH DAAL WITH A MASHER
  4. ADD 2 TBSP OF OIL TO A PAN
  5. ADD A TSP OF MUSTARD AND CUMIN SEEDS
  6. ADD 3 BROKEN RED CHILLIES, FEW GREEN CHILLIES AND 4 TO 5 GARLIC CLOVES
  7. ADD A PINCH OF ASFOTEDIA
  8. ADD THIS TADKA TO THE DAAL
  9. ADD 2 CUPS OF WATER AND SALT TO SEASON THE DAL AND LET IT BOIL AND SIMMER FOR 5 TO 6 MINUTES
