ABOUT Homemade Ghee RECIPE

Homemade Ghee!In India,people use homemade ghee or desi ghee in many Indian dishes.I also use homemade ghee on chapatis.Ghee has been called as a medicinal food.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Malai 1 kg
  2. Water
  3. Ice cubes
  4. Few containers

Instructions

  1. PLACE 1 KG FRESH CREAM / MALAI IN THE REFRIGERATOR FOR 10 HOURS
  2. ADD MALAI TO A MIXER JAR, ADD 1 CUP WATER, BLEND FOR 1 MINUTE
  3. ADD 8-10 ICE CUBES, BLEND AGAIN FOR 2-3 MINS
  4. YOU SHOULD NOW FIND BUBBLES FLOATING ON THE TOP LIKE THIS
  5. ADD THE BUTTERMILK TO A DEEP VESSEL, ADD 2 CUPS WATER, WAIT FOR 2 MINS
  6. THE BUTTER WILL EASILY SEPARATE FROM THE MILK LIKE THIS
  7. COLLECT THE BUTTER IN A KADHAI, MELT ON LOW HEAT
  8. STIR & COOK
  9. THE GHEE WILL START TO SEPERATE LIKE THIS, CONTINUE COOKING ON LOW HEAT FOR 20 MINS
  10. TAKE OFF HEAT WHEN THE MIXTURE TURNS FROTHY & GOLDEN BROWN, ALLOW IT TO COOL FOR 10 MINS
  11. FILTER THE GHEE FROM THE DARK BROWN GRANULES, STORE IN AN AIRTIGHT GLASS JAR
