ABOUT Kadi-Chawal RECIPE

This is a soulful lunch made with tempered curd and pakodas dunked in it, served with some steamed rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Gramflour 2 cup
  2. Oil as required
  3. Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  4. Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  7. Kadi patta few
  8. Rice 1 glass
  9. Dry red chilli 3-4
  10. Buttermilk - 2 cups

Instructions

  1. IN GRAMFLOUR ADD RED CHILLI POWDER SALT AND LITTLE TURMERIC POWDER
  2. MAKE A PASTE IN WATER CHECK FOR THE LUMPS
  3. MAKE BUTTERMILK ADD THIS PASTE IN IT AND MIX NICELY
  4. NOW PUT OVER GAS AND STIR CONTINUOUSLY
  5. LET IT COOK FIRST IN HIGH GAS AND WHEN STARTS CURDLING SIM THE GAS
  6. ADD KARI PATTA IN IT AND LET IT COOK AGAIN
  7. NOW THE KADI IS READY AND GETS THICKENED UP
  8. IN THE LEFT BESAN MAKE PAKODAS AND FRY IN HOT OIL
  9. FRY THE PAKODAS NICELY
  10. IT IS TURNING BROWN AND ARE READY TO BE DIPPED IN KADI
  11. HEAT SOME OIL FOR THE TEMPERING AND ADD CUMIN SEEDS, ASAFOETIDA, DRY RED CHILLY. POUR THIS TEMPERING INTO THE KADI AND PAKODAS , THIS IS READY TO BE SERVED.
  12. ADD PAKODAS IN KADI READY TO BE SERVED
  13. SOAK RICE FOR SOME TIME
  14. PRESSURE COOK IT FOR 2 WHISTLES
