Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Amla size tamarind
  2. 1/4 Cup horse gram
  3. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Coriander leaves
  6. For Spice
  7. 2 tsp black pepper
  8. 1 tsp jeera
  9. 2 Red Chillies
  10. 6 garlics
  11. 1 chopped tomato
  12. Curry leaves optional
  13. For tempering
  14. Oil
  15. Jeera
  16. Curry leaves

Instructions

  1. SOAK AMLA SIZE TAMARIND
  2. SOAK HORSE GRAM OVERNIGHT
  3. PRESSURE COOK FOR 5 WHISTLES
  4. DRAIN HORSE GRAM BROTH AND SET ASIDE
  5. IN A KADAI, ADD 1 TSP OIL. ADD 2 TSP BLACK PEPPER
  6. ADD 1 TSP JEERA
  7. ADD 6 GARLIC AND TWO RED CHILLIES
  8. ADD 1 CHOPPED TOMATO
  9. SAUTE
  10. ADD 1/4 CUP COOKED HORSE GRAM AND SPICE MIX
  11. BLEND TO A FINE PASTE
  12. MIX HORSE GRAM PASTE WITH BROTH
  13. BOIL TAMARIND EXTRACT
  14. ADD 1/2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
  15. ADD HORSE GRAM PASTE
  16. ADD REQUIRED SALT
  17. MIX WELL
  18. TURN OFF THE FLAME AT THIS STAGE
  19. GARNISH WITH CORIANDER LEAVES
  20. ADD TEMPERING
  21. SERVE HOT WITH RICE AND BRINJAL FRY
