ABOUT Gavar ki sabji RECIPE

The Guar or cluster bean, with the botanical name Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, is an annual legume and the source of guar gum. It is also known as Gavar, Guwar, or Guvar bean.  hear i make typically Gujarati gavarfali ki sabji , also known as gavar nu sak.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 200 gm chopped gavar
  2. 3tbsp oil
  3. 1tsp coram seed
  4. 1 chopped onions
  5. 1tbsp redchilly and garlic paste
  6. salt to taste
  7. 2tsp cumin coriander powder
  8. 1tsp red chilly powder
  9. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  10. 1/4 cup water
  11. 1/4 cup water again

Instructions

  1. HEAT 3 TBSP OIL, IN A PRESSURE COOKER PAN.
  2. ADD 1TSP CAROM SEEDS
  3. ADD 1 CHOPPED ONIONS , SAUTE
  4. ADD PINCH OF SALT AND SAUTE
  5. ADD 1TBSP RED CHILLY-GARLIC PASTE , MIX
  6. ADD SALT, 2TSP CUMIN CORIANDER POWDER, 1TSP RED CHILLY POWDER, 1/2 TSP TURMERIC
  7. MIX
  8. ADD 1/4 CUP WATER
  9. ADD 200 GM CHOPPED GAVAR AND MIX
  10. ADD 1/4 CUP WATER AND COVER WITH LID
  11. COOK TILL 2 WHISTLES ARE ATTAINED, AND THEN LET THE PRESSURE SETTLE DOWN.
  12. OPEN AND STIR.
  13. GAVAR NI SABJI IS READY TO BE SERVED.
