  5. Cumin 1 tsp
  6. Curry leaves a sprig
  7. Garlic 10 pods
  8. Tur dal thuvayal:
  9. Tur dal 1 cup
  10. Dry red chillies 5
  11. Pepper 1 tsp
  12. Asafoetida 1/ 2 tsp
  13. Coconut 2 tsp
  14. Garlic 10 pods
  15. Curry leaves a sprig

Instructions

  1. RINSE 1/4 CUP HORSE GRAM DAL AND 2 TSP RICE WELL
  2. ADD 2 CUPS WATER, 1 TSP CUMIN, 4 GARLIC PODS, CURRY LEAVES, SALT
  3. COOK FOR 5 TO 6 WHISTLES
  4. OPEN COOKER, MASH A LITTLE AND SERVE
  5. FOR TUVAYAL: TUR DAL 1 CUP, GARLIC 10 PODS, CURRY LEAVES A SPRIG, DRY RED CHILLIES 5, PEPPER 1 TSP, COCONUT 2 TSP
  6. DRY ROAST TUR DAL IN SLOW FLAME TILL AROMA AND GOLDEN BROWN.
  7. WHEN GOLDEN BROWN, ROMOVE FROM FLAME.
  8. DRY ROAST BALANCE INGREDIENTS SEPERATELY IN LOW FLAME TILL GOLDEN BROWN.
  9. GRIND THEM WITH SALT FOR ONE OR TWO PULSE
  10. ADD LITTLE WATER AND GRIND TO COARSE PASTE
  11. TO COARSE PASTE
  12. EMPTY OF DRY CONTAINER AND SERVE
  13. SERVE WITH HORSEGRAM POTRIDGE
