as I belong to my native village I closely watch their cooking style..they cook it with very little masala and it tastes really awesome...today I am presenting the gaon style curry which is full of flavour and taste

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. prawns 500 gms medium sized
  2. onion 3 coarsely grinded
  3. ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  4. turmeric powder 1 tsp
  5. red chilli powder 1 tsp
  6. salt
  7. oil for frying
  8. garam masala 1 tsp
  9. 1 bay leaf
  10. tomatoes 2 sliced
  11. coriander leaves


  1. Wash the prawns and marinade with salt,turmeric powder and one lemon juice
  2. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the prawns till golden in colour
  3. Take them out
  4. Prawns r ready
  5. Now heat oil in a pan
  6. Add a bay leaf and coarsely grinded onion paste
  7. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté
  8. Add salt
  9. Turmeric powder
  10. Red chilli powder
  11. Add green chilli
  12. Sliced tomatoes
  13. Add garam masala
  14. When all the masalas are cooked well add water
  15. When water begins to boil add fried prawns
  16. Simmer the gas for 10 mins and then add coriander leaves
  17. Serve with rice or roti
