ABOUT Masala Dal Vada RECIPE

Masala wada or Chenaga pappu garelu are a must on a rainy day. Every person would make it Atleast once whether in breakfast or at tea time. It is a traditional dish most loved and commonly made in every Andhra home.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chana dal - 250 grams
  2. Cumin - 1 tsp
  3. Cinnamon - 1 inch
  4. Red chilli - 5
  5. Coriander - 2 tbsp
  6. Onion - 2 tbsp
  7. Ginger - 1 tsp
  8. Green chillies - 4 to 5
  9. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. WASH & SOAK 250 GMS BENGAL GRAM / CHANA DAL FOR 3-4 HOURS
  2. STRAIN WATER, ADD TO A MIXER JAR
  3. ADD 1 TSP CUMIN SEEDS, 5 -6 DRY RED CHILLIES
  4. ADD 2 SMALL CINNAMON STICKS, GRIND INTO A COARSE PASTE WITHOUT ADDING WATER
  5. MAKE A COARSE MIX LIKE THIS
  6. TRANFER GROUND MIX TO A BOWL, ADD 2 TBSP CHOPPED ONIONS, 1 TSP GINGER, 2 TBSP FRESH CORIANDER
  7. ADD 4-5 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES, SALT TO TASTE, MIX WELL
  8. SHAPE INTO SMALL, FLAT ROUNDS LIKE THIS
  9. DEEP FRY IN HOT OIL ON MEDIUM HEAT
  10. COOK UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP FROM BOTH SIDES
  11. SERVE HOT WITH CHUTNEY OR KETCHUP
