ABOUT Masoor ki dal RECIPE

A dal with which chapati and rice both goes superb. You dont need to cook any sabji along with it. It is best if you have to make an early breakfast.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Masoor dal (black)- 1/2 kg
  2. Onions- 4 big
  3. tomatoes - 2 to 3 medium
  4. cumin seeds -1 tspn
  5. Red Chillies - 2
  6. Green chillies - 4
  7. Bay leaf - 1
  8. Haldi- 1 tspn
  9. Red Chilli powder - 1 tspn
  10. Garam masala - 1tspn
  11. salt
  12. water - 4 to 5 glass

Instructions

  1. SOAK MASOOR DAL IN WATER IN NIGHT
  2. HEAT MUSTARD OIL IN PRESSURE COOKER
  3. ADD CUMIN SEEDS, RED CHILLIES, BAY LEAF
  4. ONCE IT CRACKLES, ADD GARLIC PIECES
  5. ADD CHOPPED ONIONS
  6. SAUTE THEM ON MEDIUM FLAME
  7. ADD 4 GREEN CHILLIES
  8. ONCE THE ONIONS TURNS GOLDEN BROWN
  9. ADD HALDI
  10. RED CHILLI POWDER
  11. GARAM MASALA
  12. MIX WELL AND LET THE MASALA COOK
  13. ADD CHOPPED TOMATOES, SALT
  14. LET THE TOMATOES BECOMES TENDER
  15. ADD THE SOAKED MASOOR DAL TO THE MASALA
  16. MIX WELL WITH THE MASALAS
  17. COOK BY STIRRING FOR 5 MIN THEN ADD WATER
  18. ADD 4 GLASS OF WATER
  19. MIX WELL
  20. CLOSE THE LID, ALLOW 4 WHISTLES, SWITCH OFF THE FLAME
