Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boiled rice 1 cup
  2. Raw rice 1 cup
  3. Urad dal 1 cup
  4. Fenugreek seeds 1 teaspoon
  5. Pepper 1 tablespoon
  6. Jeera 1 teaspoon
  7. Ginger grated 1 teaspoon
  8. Curry leaves
  9. Salt

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 CUP PAR BOILED IDLI RICE, ADD 1 CUP RAW RICE
  2. ADD 1 CUP URAD DAL, 1 TSP FENUGREEK SEEDS
  3. WASH WELL, SET ASIDE TO SOAK FOR 4 HOURS
  4. ADD TO A MIXER JAR, GRIND INTO A SMOOTH BATTER, ADD SALT, COVER & SET ASIDE FOR 6 HOURS
  5. COARSELY CRUSH 1 TBSP PEPPERCORNS
  6. HEAT 2 TBSP EACH OF GHEE & OIL, ADD THE PEPPER, 1 TSP CUMIN SEEDS, 8-10 CURRY LEAVES
  7. ADD 1 TSP GRATED GINGER, 1/4 TSP ASAFOETIDA
  8. ADD THE READY TADKA TO THE FERMENTED BATTER, MIX WELL
  9. POUR THE BATTER INTO GHEE-GREASED MOULDS
  10. STEAM FOR 15 MINS OR TILL DONE, SERVE HOT WITH SAMBAR & CHUTNEY
