Its a perfect teatime snak. Bengalies often offered it on Vijaya Dashami festival with nadu (laddus).

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour 1 cup
  2. Nigella seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Salt slightly
  4. Vegetable oil or banaspati for deep frying
  5. Oil or ghee for moyan about 2 tablespoon


  1. In a bowl add all purpose flour or maida
  2. Add nigella seeds and salt and mix well
  3. Add oil for moyan and mix
  4. Add water and make the dough
  5. Knead it
  6. Roll with a rolling pin
  7. Cut with knife
  8. Heat oil
  9. Deep fry on medium low flame
  10. Drain excess oil
  11. Keep on a kitchen tissue
