Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. For outer cover 2 cup wheat flour
  2. salt to taste
  3. water as required
  4. For filling
  5. 2 cup chana dal
  6. 4-5 green chillies
  7. 12-13 garlic cloves
  8. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  9. 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  10. 1 tsp turmeric
  11. Handful chopped fresh coriander leaves
  12. salt to taste
  13. For tempring
  14. 1 tsp cumin
  15. 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  16. 4-5 curry leaves
  17. 1 tbsp ghee

Instructions

  1. SOAK 2 CUP CHANA DAL IN WATER FOR 1 HOURS
  2. IN A ZAR ADD CHANA DAL, 4-5 GREEN CHILLIES, 12-15 GARLIC CLOVES
  3. BLEND EVERYTHING WELL TOGETHER
  4. 1 TSP TURMERIC, SALT TO TASTE
  5. 1/4 TSP ASFOETIDA, 1 TSP CUMIN SEEDS
  6. HANDFUL CHOPPED FRESH CORIANDER LEAVES, MIX EVERYTHING WELL TOGETHER
  7. 2 CUP WHEAT FLOUR, SALT TO TASTE, KNEAD MEDIUM SOFT DOUGH
  8. DIVIDE THE DOUGH INTO EQUAL PORTION ,ROLL EACH PORTION OF DOUGH INTO MEDIUM THIN CHAPATI
  9. CUT IT WITH GLASS
  10. PLACE 1 TSP OF THE FILLING, FOLD IT AND SEAL THE EDGES
  11. ADD 1 TBSP OIL INTO BOILING WATER, ADD ALL THE FARAS
  12. COOK THEM TILL THEY BECOME SOFT AND FLOAT ON THE WATER SURFACE
  13. REMOVE IT FROM THE WATER
  14. CUT THE FARAS INTO 1 INCH PIECES
  15. HEAT ONE TBSP GHEE
  16. 1 TSP CUMIN, 1/4 TSP ASAFOETIDA, 4-5 CURRY LEAVES
  17. ADD THE CUT PIECES OF FARAS,FRY IT TILL THE EDGES BECOME CRISPY OR AS PER YOUR CHOICE
  18. FOR TOMATO CHUTNEY, 2 BIG TOMATOES, 1/2 BUNCH CORIANDER, 2-3 GREEN CHILLIES, 3-4 GARLIC CLOVES
  19. SALT TO TASTE, BLEND EVERYTHING WELL TOGETHER
  20. YUMMY CHUTNEY IS READY TO SERVE WITH FARAS
  21. FARA IS READY TO SERVE
  22. SERVE IMMEDIATELY WITH TOMATO CHUTNEY
  23. ENJOY
