  1. 1cup urad dal
  2. 2 cup idli rava
  3. Pinch cooking soda
  4. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. SOAK 1 SMALL CUP URAD DAL FOR 3-4 HOURS.
  2. GRIND INTO FINE PASTE
  3. ADD WATER IN IDLI RAVA AND DRAIN THE WATER
  4. NOW MIX URAD DAL PASTE INTO IDLI RAVA AND MIX WELL. KEEP IT FOR FERMENTATION BY ADDINV LITTLE COOMING SODA
  5. IN THE MORNING ADD SALT TO FERMENTED BATTER AND MIX WELL
  6. HEAT WATER IN IDLI STEAMER OR IN COOKER
  7. FILL THE IDLI PLATES
  8. PUT THE PLATES IN COOKER, COVER AND COOK TILL 8-10 MINS
  9. IDLIS ARE READY
  10. LET IT COOLFOR SECONDS AND TAKE OUT IN PLATE
  11. SERVE WITH COCONUT CHUTNEY AND SAMBHAR IF YOU WISH.
