Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Urad dal 1 cup
  2. Rava 2 cup
  3. Buttermilk 1 cup
  4. Water
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Coconut oil 1/4 cup
  7. For chutney...
  8. Grated coconut 1 cup
  9. Coriander leaves 1 bunch
  10. Garlic cloves 5-6
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Curd 1/2 tbs
  13. Water
  14. Capsicum small 1 chopped
  15. Onion 1 chopped

Instructions

  1. 4 HOURS SOAKED URAD DAL 1 CUP
  2. ADD BUTTERMILK 1 CUP AND SUFFICIENT WATER, GRIND SMOOTHLY
  3. TRANSFER INTO A VESSEL, COVER AND KEEP ASIDE FOR FERMENTATION OVERNIGHT
  4. CHECK THE FERMENTATION, ADD RAVA
  5. ADD SALT AND MIX WELL
  6. GREASE IDLI MOULDS WITH COCONUT OIL
  7. ADD BATTER INTO EACH MOULD
  8. COVER AND STEAM COOK FOR 35-40 MINUTES IN MEDIUM FLAME
  9. IN THE MEANTIME COMBINE GRATED COCONUT, CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES
  10. CAPSICUM, ONION, GARLIC
  11. ADD SALT, SOME WATER AND GRIND SMOOTHLY
  12. TRANSFER CHUTNEY INTO A BOWLADD 1/2 TABLESPOON CURD, MIX WELL AND SERVE WITH HOT IDLIES
  13. CHECK THE COOKNESS, TAKE OFF FLAME
  14. REMOVE IDLIES FROM MOULDS AND SERVE
