Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 1 cup all purpose Flour
  2. 3 tbsp desi ghee
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 1/2 cup water
  5. 1 pinch salt
  6. 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  7. oil for deep frying
  8. Some chopped pistachio for garnishing

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 CUP ALL PURPOSE FLOUR, ADD A PINCH OF SALT
  2. MAKE A WELL IN THE CENTRE, ADD 4 TBSP GHEE, MIX
  3. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER TO MAKE A SOFT DOUGH
  4. COVER & SET ASIDE FOR 10 MINS
  5. TAKE 1 CUP SUGAR, ADD 1/2 CUP WATER
  6. BOIL, ADD 1/2 TSP VINEGAR
  7. MAKE A SYRUP OF 1 THREAD CONSISTENCY
  8. ADD 1/4 TSP CARDAMOM POWDER, SET ASIDE
  9. ROLL OUT THE RESTED DOUGH ON A FLOUR-DUSTED SURFACE TO MAKE A RECTANGLE
  10. APPLY GHEE ON TOP
  11. SPRINKLE SOME RICE FLOUR ON TOP, ROLL THE SHEET TIGHTLY
  12. CUT INTO 1 INCH PIECES
  13. FLATTEN THEM OUT
  14. DEEP FRY IN HOT OIL ON MEDIUM HEAT
  15. FRY UNTIL THEY TURN GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
  16. DIP THE FRIED PIECES IN THE READY SUGAR SYRUP
  17. REMOVE & SET ASIDE TO COOL
  18. GARNISH WITH A HANDFUL OF PISTACHIO SLIVERS, SERVE
