Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For Marination :
  2. Chicken large pieces 5
  3. Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  4. Salt 1.5 teaspoon
  5. Crushed cumin 1 teaspoon
  6. Crushed black whole pepper 1.5 teaspoons
  7. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Red chilly powder 1 teaspoon
  9. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Curd 4 tablespoons
  11. Other Ingredients :
  12. Sesame oil 1 ladleful
  13. onion 1 big sized chopped
  14. Tomato 1 big ripe finely chopped
  15. Salt 3/4 teaspoon
  16. Ginger thinly sliced 1 teaspoon
  17. Green chilly 1 slit
  18. Dried fenugreek leaves crushed a fistful
  19. Cilantros finely chopped a fistful

Instructions

  1. Take 5 large chicken pieces in a bowl . Marinate with 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste,
  2. 1.5 teaspoon salt ,
  3. Crushed (cumin seeds + black whole pepper )1 tablespoon.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon turmeric powder .
  5. Add 1 teaspoon coriander powder .
  6. Add 1 teaspoon red chilli powder .
  7. Add 5 tablespoons curd .
  8. Marinate the chicken . Refrigerate for 2 hours .
  9. After 2 hours , heat 1 ladle full sesame oil on the tawa .
  10. Oil the tawa completely for even cooking .
  11. Simmer the flame . Place the marinated chicken pieces . Slow fry until discoloration.
  12. Flip sides and fry again until half cooked .
  13. Remove the half cooked chicken from the pan .
  14. In the same pan , add 1 big onion chopped . Sauté until translucent.
  15. Add 3/4 teaspoon salt .
  16. Add finely sliced ginger pieces 1.5 teaspoons.
  17. Sauté . Add 1 slit green chilly . Sauté again .
  18. Add 1 finely chopped mushy tomato . Sauté until soft and saucy .
  19. Once masala is formed , place the half cooked chicken pieces .
  20. The juice of the tomato and onions will do to cook the chicken . Cover Cook the chicken in low .
  21. After 7 minutes , remove the lid .
  22. Toss the chicken to blend well with the masala .
  23. Sprinkle crushed dried fenugreek leaves fistful .
  24. Cover and slow cook for another 5 minutes or until the chicken is roasted along with the masala .
  25. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantros fistful .
  26. Delicious Tawa Chicken is ready .
  27. Serve hot with rotis / pulaos .
