ABOUT Tava fried rice RECIPE

Veggies like bell pepper, spring onion , green peas, carrot are fried in butter on a medium high flame on the tava giving it a nice smoked flavor. To this we add paneer and boiled rice. Garnish with pineapple and cashew nuts

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Rice 1 cup
  2. Butter 2 tbsp
  3. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  4. Cloves 4
  5. Cardamon 2
  6. Bay leaf 1
  7. Pine apple chopped 1/4 cup
  8. Cashew nuts few
  9. Spring onions chopped 2 cups
  10. Carrot chopped 1 cup
  11. Paneer 200 gms
  12. Sweet bell peppers chopped 1 cup
  13. Green Peas 1 cup
  14. Garam masala 1 tsp
  15. Salt to taste


  1. Boil the rice
  2. On a heated tava , add butter fry the cashews and keep aside
  3. Add cumin seeds. When they sizzle add in the remaining whole spices
  4. Add in chopped onion ( bottom part of the spring onion)
  5. When half cooked add in bell peppers and carrots
  6. Cook for 5 min on a medium high flame. Add green peas and spring onion greens
  7. Soak paneer cubes in hot water for 10 min
  8. Add salt and garam masala to the veggies
  9. Add paneer
  10. Mix in boiled rice
  11. Garnish with pineapple pieces and cashews nuts
