Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. urad dal 1 cup
  2. Idli rava 2 cups
  3. water 5 Cups
  4. oil for greasing
  5. Toor dal 1/2 cup
  6. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  7. Curry leaves few
  8. Red Chillies 2
  9. hing small piece
  10. turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  11. tamarind marble ball size
  12. Sambhar masala 2 tbsp
  13. tomato 1 small
  14. pumpkin 100 gms
  15. Brinjals round small 2
  16. Drumstick 1
  17. carrot 1
  18. onion 1 medium
  19. salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal for 8 hours
  2. Grind into a paste
  3. Add idli rava and set aside for 8 hours
  4. Add salt to taste
  5. Grease idli stand pour in the batter and steam for 15 min
  6. When a knife comes out clean it is done
  7. For sambhar soak tooor dal for min 1 hour
  8. Pressure cooker it along with the vegetables
  9. Add in fried tomato
  10. Soak tamarind in water for half an hour and extract the pulp
  11. Add Tamarind pulp and sambhar masala to the cooked dal and vegetables
  12. Simmer for 5 min.
  13. Add to it a tadka of mustard seeds, Hing, red chilies, turmeric powder and curry leaves
  14. Add salt to taste
