ABOUT Dal Baskets RECIPE

Dal is rich source of protein and essential ingredient of nutritious diet. Chana dal baskets is a Chatpata snack with goodness of dal and chat chatkara. These baskets can be filled with choicest fillings. Can also be used as a base for pizza cups.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Chana dal 1/2 cup
  2. Dhuli moong dal 1 tbsp
  3. Dhuli urad dal 1 tbsp
  4. ginger 1"
  5. Green chilies 2
  6. salt 3/4 tesp
  7. Red chilli powder 1/2 tesp
  8. Kasoori methi 1 tbsp
  9. Baking soda a pinch
  10. oil 1 tbsp
  11. masala corns for filling

Instructions

  1. SOAK 1/2 CUP CHANA DAL, 1 TBSP EACH OF DHULI URAD & MOONG DAL TOGETHER FOR 6-8 HOURS
  2. WASH & DRAIN THE SOAKED DALS
  3. ADD DALS, A 1" GINGER PIECE, 2 GREEN CHILIES, 2 TBSP WATER TO A BLENDER, GRIND INTO A COARSE PASTE
  4. ADD A PINCH OF BAKING SODA, SALT, 1/4 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER, 1 TSP KASOORI METHI TO THE DAL PASTE
  5. ADD THE DAL BATTER TO OIL-GREASED IDLI MOULDS, PRESS DOWN TO MAKE A HOLLOW WELL IN THE CENTRE
  6. PLACE THE MOULDS IN A STEAMER
  7. MICROWAVE FOR 3 MINS
  8. DAL BASKETS ARE READY, ALLOW THEM TO COOL & THEN DEMOULD
  9. BRUSH THE BASKETS WITH OIL
  10. BAKE OR AIRFRY FOR 12 MINS
  11. CRISP BASKETS ARE READY
  12. FILL WITH INGREDIENTS OF YOUR CHOICE, SEASON WITH CHAT MASALA & SALT, SERVE IMMEDIATELY
