Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Rice 1 cup
  2. Channa dal 1 cup
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Water
  5. Coconut oil 1/2 cup
  6. Ghee 1 tsp
  7. Coconut gratings 1 cup
  8. Jaggery 1 cup
  9. Cardamom powder 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. PRESSURE COOKED CHANNA DAL 1 CUP
  2. ADD FRESH COCONUT AND JAGGERY EACH 1 CUP, BLEND TO SMOOTH, IF ESSENTIAL ADD SOME WATER
  3. HEAT GHEE 1 TSP IN A PAN, TRANSFER GROUND POORANAM INTO IT, ADD CARDAMOM POWDER 1 TSP
  4. MIX, SAUTE AND COOK IN MEDIUM-LOW FLAME
  5. COOK TILL THE POORANAM LOOKS DRY AND BECOMES A MASS SET ASIDE TO COOL
  6. GRIND UNTIL SMOOTH 4 HOURS SOAKED 1 CUP RICE BY ADDING SUFFICIENT WATER
  7. HEAT 2 TSP OF COCONUT OIL, POUR GROUND BATTER
  8. ADD SUFFICIENT WATER, SALT TO TASTE, THE BATTER SHOULD BE LIKE MILK CONSISTENCY
  9. CONTINUOUSLY SAUTE AND COOK TILL IT LOOKS DRY
  10. TAKE OFF FLAME WHEN SPATULA STANDS STRAIGHT IN DOUGH, SET ASIDE TO COOL
  11. KNEAD WELL AFTER COOL
  12. THE OUTER COVERING IS SOFT AND READY TO MAKE BALLS, ADD A TSP OF COCONUT OIL AND ALLOW IT 5 MINUTES
  13. PREPARE POORANAM BALLS GOOSEBERRY SIZED
  14. GREASE PALMS WITH COCONUT OIL AND MAKE LEMON SIZED OUTER COVERING DOUGH BALLS
  15. GREASE OIL TO ROTI SHEET AND FLATTEN THE OUTER COVERING BALLS LIKE THIN POORI
  16. PLACE THE POORANAM AND SPREAD IT IN ONE HALF OF THE POORI LEAVING THE EDGES
  17. JOIN THE EDGES TO SEAL THE POORANAM
  18. COVER THE EDGES AND GIVE SHAPES AS YOUR WISH
  19. GREASE THE PLATE TO AVOID STICKY AND PLACE KADUBU ONE BY ONE CAREFULLY
  20. FOLLOW SAME TO REMAINING
  21. PLACE THE PLATE INTO STEAMER, THE WATER MUST BEGIN TO BOIL, STEAM FOR 20 MINUTES IN IN MEDIUM FLAME
  22. REMOVE THE LID, CHECK THE COOKNESS, ALLOW IT TO LITTLE COOL
  23. REMOVE CAREFULLY AND SERVE
