Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Channa Dal 1 1/4 cup
  2. Jaggery 1 cup
  3. Fresh coconut grated 3/4 cup
  4. Cardamons 4
  5. All purpose flour 1/2 cup
  6. Wheat flour 1 1/2 cup
  7. Water 1 1/2 Cup
  8. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak channa dal overnight
  2. Pressure cook for 5 whistles
  3. Drain water and mash the dal
  4. Heat coconut on a tava
  5. Mix with channa dal, jaggery, cardamon powder and salt. Heat till it is dry
  6. Knead into tight dough adding both the flours
  7. Set aside for half an hour
  8. Divide into equal portions
  9. Make small round circles of each portion
  10. DIVIDE PURAN INTO EQUAL PARTS
  11. PLACE PURAN INTO THE CIRCLE AND FORM A MODAK
  12. FRY TILL DONE
