ABOUT Chickpea Tikka masala RECIPE

Chickpea tikka masala is a vegetarian version of chicken tikka masala.Chicken is replaced with chickpeas and coconut milk is used instead of heavy cream.This dish is rich ,this dish: rich, spicy and delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  2. 1 large onion, finely chopped
  3. 2 garlic cloves, minced
  4. 1"-inch piece of ginger, finely chopped
  5. 1 tablespoon Garam Masala
  6. 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  7. 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  8. 2 teaspoons chilli powder
  9. 1 teaspoon turmeric
  10. 3 cups boiled chickpeas
  11. 2 cups diced tomatoes
  12. 400ml coconut milk
  13. 1 teaspoon cornstarch powder
  14. 2 tablespoons water
  15. Salt as per taste
  16. Freshly chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. HEAT A PAN OVER MEDIUM HEAT AND ADD 2 TBSP OIL.
  2. ADD ONE LARGE SIZE FINELY CHOPPED ONION TO HOT OIL.SAUTE UNTIL TRANSLUCENT.
  3. ADD 2 FINELY CHOPPED GARLIC CLOVES AND SAUTE FOR 1 MORE MINUTE.
  4. ADD GINGER AND SAUTE UNTIL FRAGRANT, ABOUT 30 SECONDS.
  5. ADD 1TSP TURMERIC,2TSP CUMIN POWDER,2TSP CHILLI POWDER,2TSP CORIANDER POWDER,1TBSP GARAM MASALA.
  6. SAUTE ALL THE SPICES WELL WITH ONION MIXTURE.
  7. ADD 3 CUPS BOILED CHICKPEAS AND 2 CUP DICED TOMATOES.MIX WELL
  8. ADD 1TSP SALT ,MIX WELL COVER AND COOK ON LOW FLAME FOR 15 MINUTES.
  9. STIR IN BETWEEN.
  10. ADD 400 ML OF COCONUT MILK AND SIMMER FOR 5 MORE MINUTES.
  11. ADD 1TSP SALT AND STIR WELL.
  12. IN A SMALL BOWL ADD 1 TSP CORNSTARCH WITH 2 TABLESPOONS OF WATER.WHISK WELL TO AVOID ANY LUMPS.
  13. ADD CORNSTARCH IN THE CHICKPEA MIXTURE AND COOK FOR 5 MORE MINUTES OR UNTIL THE GRAVY HAS THICKENED.
  14. TURN OF THE HEAT, SPRINKLE CHOPPED FRESH CORIANDER LEAVES.
