ABOUT Chole Tikka Masala RECIPE

Chickpea tikka masala is a vegetarian version of chicken tikka masala.Chicken is replaced with chickpeas and coconut milk is used instead of heavy cream.This dish is rich ,this dish: rich, spicy and delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 tablespoons olive oil
  2. 1 large onion, finely chopped
  3. 2 garlic cloves, minced
  4. 1"-inch piece of ginger, finely chopped
  5. 1 tablespoon Garam Masala
  6. 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  7. 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  8. 2 teaspoons chilli powder
  9. 1 teaspoon turmeric
  10. 3 cups boiled chickpeas
  11. 2 cups diced tomatoes
  12. 400ml coconut milk
  13. 1 teaspoon cornstarch powder
  14. 2 tablespoons water
  15. Salt as per taste
  16. Freshly chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. HEAT 2 TBSP OIL, ADD 1 FINELY CHOPPED ONION, SAUTE UNTIL TRANSLUCENT
  2. ADD 2 FINELY CHOPPED GARLIC CLOVES, SAUTE FOR 1 MINUTE
  3. ADD 3/4 TSP GINGER, SAUTE FOR 30-40 SECONDS
  4. ADD 1 TSP TURMERIC, 2 TSP EACH OF CUMIN, RED CHILLI, CORIANDER & 1 TBSP GARAM MASALA POWDERS, SAUTE
  5. ADD 3 CUPS PRE SOAKED & BOILED CHICKPEAS, 2 CUPS DICED TOMATOES, MIX WELL
  6. ADD 1 TSP SALT, COVER & COOK ON LOW HEAT FOR 15 MINS, STIRRING ONCE OR TWICE IN BETWEEN
  7. ADD 400 ML COCONUT MILK, SIMMER FOR 5 MINS
  8. ADD 1 TSP SALT, STIR WELL
  9. TAKE 1 TSP CORNFLOUR, ADD 2 TBSP WATER, MIX INTO A SMOOTH SLURRY
  10. ADD THE READY SLURRY INTO THE CHICKPEA MASALA, MIX & SIMMER FOR 5 MINS
  11. SPRINKLE 2 TBSP CHOPPED FRESH CORIANDER, SERVE HOT
