Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Sweet potato 100 gms
  2. Moong dal 1 cup
  3. Water
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Onion chopped 1 cup
  6. Curry leaves few
  7. Turmeric powder a pinch
  8. Asafoetida a pinch
  9. Coconut oil 4 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  11. Urad dal 1 tsp
  12. Red chilli 1

Instructions

  1. CLEANLY WASH AND PEEL SWEET POTATO
  2. CUT INTO SMALL PIECES, SOAK IN WATER FOR 5 MINUTES
  3. DRAIN THE WATER
  4. ADD SWEET POTATO, HALF AN HOUR SOAKED MOONG DAL
  5. ADD GREEN CHILLI, SALT TO TASTE AND SOME WATER, BRING ONE WHISTLE AND ALLOW IT TO COOL
  6. HEAT COCONUT OIL, TEMPER MUSTARD SEEDS, RED CHILLI
  7. ADD URAD DAL, ASAFOETIDA AND ALLOW IT TO SPLUTTER
  8. FRY ONION UNTIL TENDER
  9. ADD CURRY LEAVES, TURMERIC POWDER, SALT TO TASTE
  10. ADD COOKED INGREDIENTS
  11. ADD GRATED COCONUT AND MIX WELL, SERVE WITH CHAPATHI OR RICE
