ABOUT Whole Wheat Sweet Buns RECIPE

These soft buttery buns made from wheat flour taste delicious when sliced and buttered.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Wheat flour 3 cups
  2. Milk powder 1 cup
  3. water 1 cup
  4. sugar 6 tbsp
  5. butter 5 tbsp
  6. yeast 2 tsp
  7. salt 1 tsp
  8. Tutti frutti 4 tbsp
  9. oil to apply on dough

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 CUP WARM WATER, ADD 6 TBSP SUGAR
  2. ADD 2 TBSP YEAST, MIX WELL, COVER & SET ASIDE FOR 10 MINS
  3. TAKE 3 CUPS WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, ADD 1 CUP MILK POWDER
  4. ADD 1 TSP SALT, 5 TBSP UNSALTED BUTTER, MIX UNTIL CRUMBLY
  5. GRADUALLY ADD THE YEAST MIXTURE, KNEAD A DOUGH
  6. THE DOUGH WILL BE STICKY INITIALLY, NO NEED TO ADD ANY DRY FLOUR
  7. STRETCH & KNEAD FOR 10-12 MINS UNTIL SMOOTH, COVER & SET ASIDE FOR 1.5 HOURS
  8. THE DOUGH WILL DOUBLE UP IN SIZE LIKE THIS, PUNCH IT LIGHTLY
  9. ADD 2 TBSP TUTTI FRUTTI, KNEAD IT INTO THE DOUGH
  10. PLACE THE DOUGH ON A FLOUR DUSTED SURFACE, CUT INTO 8 PIECES
  11. MAKE SMOOTH BALLS FROM EACH PORTION
  12. ARRANGE BALLS ON A LINED BAKING TRAY, FIX SOME TUTTI FRUTTI ON TOP, COVER & SET ASIDE FOR 1 HOUR
  13. NOW LIGHTLY BRUSH WITH A MIXTURE OF MILK & HONEY ON TOP
  14. BAKE IN A PREHEATED OVEN AT 200 DEGREES FOR 15-18 MINS
  15. THE BUNS ARE READY, BRUSH WITH BUTTER, SERVE WARM
