ABOUT Litti chokha RECIPE

Litti chokha is a wholesome delight from Bihari cuisine. It can be relished at any meal. Litti consists of sattu stuffing which is rich in iron, manganese and magnesium. This recipe is very easy to put together .

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Whole wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Baking soda 1/8 tesp
  3. Salt 3/4 tesp
  4. Ghee 2+4 tbsp
  5. Sattu ( black gram flour) 1/2 cup
  6. Ginger 2"
  7. Green chilli 1
  8. Green coriander leaves 1 tbsp
  9. Mango pickle masala 2 tbsp
  10. Salt 1/2 tesp
  11. Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  12. Mustard oil 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 CUP WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR WITH 1/8 TESP BAKING SODA AND 1/2 TESP SALT.
  2. ADD TWO TABLESPOONS GHEE AND RUB WELL.
  3. KNEAD INTO A TIGHT DOUGH USING WATER AS NEEDED.
  4. REST THE DOUGH FOR 20 MINUTES.
  5. TO HALF CUP SATTU( BLACK GRAM FLOUR) ADD 2" GRATED GINGER AND 2 TBSP MASALA OF PUNJABI MANGO PICKLE.
  6. ADD 1 GREEN CHILI, 1 TBSP GREEN CORIANDER LEAVES.
  7. ADD 1/2 TESP SALT, 1 TBSP LEMON JUICE AND 2 TBSP MUSTARD OIL.
  8. MIX WELL.
  9. STUFFING IS READY. IT SHOULD BE SLIGHTLY MOIST. SPRINKLE SOME WATER IF IT IS TOO DRY.
  10. DIVIDE THE DOUGH INTO 10 EQUAL BALLS. FLATTEN A BALL USING THUMB AND FOREFINGERS.
  11. PLACE 1 TBSP STUFFING IN CENTRE AND SEAL BY PLEATING EDGES.
  12. STUFF ALL LITTIS SAME WAY.
  13. PLACE STUFFED LITTIS ON A GREASED TRAY AND BAKE OR AIRFRY FOR 10 MINUTES AT 200 DEGREES.
  14. FLIP THE LITTIS AFTER 10 MINUTES OF BAKING.
  15. BAKE FOR 4-5 MINUTES MORE.
  16. LITTIS ARE READY.
  17. TAKE OUT AND TOP WITH GHEE GENEROUSLY.
