This dhokla is made of samak rice,steamed and tempered with light spiced sweet and sour syrup.This is light dhokla that can be enjoyed on fast.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Samak rice 1cup
  2. Curd half cup
  3. Green chilli 2
  4. Ginger 1 tsp
  5. Rock salt/seendha namak 1 tsp
  6. Sugar 1 tsp
  7. Juice of half lemon
  8. Oil 1 tsp
  9. Eno one satche
  10. For tadka
  11. Oil 2 tsp
  12. Sesame seeds 1 tsp
  13. Black mustard seeds 1 tsp
  14. Rock salt 1/2 tsp
  15. Water 1/2 cup
  16. Lemon 1
  17. Green chilli 2
  18. Sugar 1 tsp
  19. water 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. TAKE ONE CUP SAMAK RICE /VARAT WALE CHAWAL.
  2. IN A BOWL TAKE LUKEWARM WATER AND SAMAK CHAWAL SOAK BOTH FOR ONE HOUR.
  3. AFTER ONE HOUR DISCARD THE WATER.GRIND IT TO FINE PASTE DON'T ADD WATER .IF NEED ONE TSP IS ENOUGH
  4. WE NEED THIS CONSISTENCY.NOW TO SAMAK RICE BATTER ADD HALF CUP CURD.
  5. MIX IT PROPERLY.
  6. NOW ADD ONE TSP ROCK SALT/SEENDHA NAMAK.
  7. ADD 2 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLI,GRATED GINGER 1 TSP.
  8. ADD ONE TSP SUGAR TO IT.
  9. ADD ONE TSP OIL TO BATTER.
  10. ADD ONE TSP LEMON JUICE
  11. ADD ONE TSP FRUIT SALT/ENO SATCHE.JUST FOLD IT
  12. POUR BATTER IN GREASED TIN.
  13. PLACE THIS TIN IN STEAMER.
  14. COOK FOR 20 MINUTES AT HIGH FLAME.
  15. FOR TADKA HEAT 2 TSP OIL.TO IT ADD ONE TSP BLACK MUSTARD SEEDS,SESAME SEEDS,GREEN CHILLIES.
  16. COVER IT AS IT WILL CRACKLE ,ADD CURRY LEAVES
  17. ADD 1TSP SUGAR AND 1/2 TSP SEENDHA/ROCK SALT ,ALSO ADD HALF CUP WATER AND JUICE OF 1 LEMON.
  18. NOW AFTER BATTER IS COOKED ,LET IT REST FOR 5MINUTES THEN REMOVE IT WOTH KNIFE FROM SIDES
  19. NOW DEMOULD IT.
  20. CUT IT WITH KNIFE.
  21. IN SQUARES.
  22. NOW POUR BATTER ON IT.
  23. LIKE THIS
  24. SPRINKLE DESSICATED COCONUT ON IT.
  25. FINALLY CHOPPED CORIANDER LEAVES.
  26. SERVE IT.
