ABOUT Dahi aloo RECIPE

Dahi aloo can be made during vrat or religious fasting days.on normal days you can make this with onion and garlic also.The dish has very simple taste and flavors.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 2 medium size potatoes
  2. 1 cup curd (dahi)
  3. 1 cup water or more if required
  4. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  5. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  6. 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  7. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  8. 1 inch grated ginger
  9. 1 tbsp ghee
  10. Rock salt 1/2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. FIRST BOIL THE POTATOES IN PRESSURE COOKER
  2. PEEL THE SKIN
  3. WHISK THE YOGURT WITH A WIRED WHISK
  4. IN A PAN HEAT 1 TBSP GHEE
  5. ADD CUMIN SEEDS,FRY TILL CYMIN SEEDS TURN BROWN
  6. ADD GRATED GINGER,FRY FOR SOME SECONDS
  7. ADD CRUMBLED POTATOES,SAUTE FOR 2 TO 3 MINUTES
  8. ADD ALL THE SPICES AND MIX WELL,SAUTE FOR A MINUTE
  9. ADD BEATEN CURD,ADD 1 CUP OF WATER OR AS NEEDED
  10. STIR WELL,SIMMER FOR 3 TO 4 MINUTES ON LOW FLAME AND KEEP STIRRING IN BETWEEN
  11. SIMMER TILL DAHI ALOO GRAVY THICKENS,KEEP ON STIRRING IN BETWEEN,ONCE DONE ADD CORIANDER LEAVES
  12. Dahi also is ready to serve
