ABOUT Falahari Dhokla RECIPE

This dhokla is made of samak rice,steamed and tempered with light spiced sweet and sour syrup.This is light dhokla that can be enjoyed on fast.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Samak rice 1cup
  2. Curd half cup
  3. Green chilli 2
  4. Ginger 1 tsp
  5. Rock salt/seendha namak 1 tsp
  6. Sugar 1 tsp
  7. Juice of half lemon
  8. Oil 1 tsp
  9. Eno one satche
  10. For tadka
  11. Oil 2 tsp
  12. Sesame seeds 1 tsp
  13. Black mustard seeds 1 tsp
  14. Rock salt 1/2 tsp
  15. Water 1/2 cup
  16. Lemon 1
  17. Green chilli 2
  18. Sugar 1 tsp
  19. water 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 CUP SAMAK RICE, ADD 1/2 CUP LUKEWARM WATER, SET ASIDE TO SOAK FOR 1 HOUR
  2. DRAIN, ADD TO A MIXER JAR, GRIND TILL SMOOTH
  3. THIS SHOULD BE THE CONSISTENCY OF THE BATTER, ADD 1/2 CUP CURD, MIX
  4. ADD 1 TSP ROCK SALT / SENDHA NAMAK
  5. ADD 2 CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES, 1 TSP GRATED GINGER
  6. ADD 1 TSP SUGAR
  7. ADD 1 TSP EACH OF OIL & LEMON JUICE
  8. ADD 1 PACKET OF ENO FRUIT SALT, FOLD IT IN
  9. POUR BATTER IN AN OIL-GREASED MOULD
  10. PLACE THE MOULD IN A STEAMER, COOK FOR 20 MINS ON HIGH HEAT
  11. ALLOW THE READY DHOKLA TO REST FOR 5 MINS, LOOSEN THE SIDES & DEMOULD CAREFULLY
  12. CUT INTO NEAT SQUARES, SET ASIDE
  13. HEAT 2 TSP OIL, ADD 1 TSP EACH OF MUSTARD & SESAME SEEDS, 2 SLIT GREEN CHILLIES
  14. COVER WHILE IT CRACKLES, ADD A FEW CURRY LEAVES
  15. ADD 1 TSP SUGAR, 1/2 TSP SENDHA NAMAK, 1/2 CUP WATER + 1 TBSP LEMON JUICE
  16. ADD THE THIS TADKA MIX ON TOP OF THE READY DHOKLA
  17. SPRINKLE 1 TBSP DESSICATED COCONUT
  18. GARNISH WITH A HANDFUL OF CHOPPED FRESH CORIANDER, SERVE
