Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chana dal - 1 cup
  2. lauki - 2 cups
  3. water for cooking- 2 cups
  4. haldi - 1 tspn
  5. chilli powder - 1 tspn
  6. Rock salt
  7. Bay leaf - 1
  8. elaichi - 2
  9. pepper powder - 1/2 tspn
  10. tomato - 1 big
  11. coriander leaves
  12. cumin seeds - 1 tspn
  13. Red chilli - 2
  14. Garam masala - 1/2 tspn

Instructions

  1. SOAK CHANA DAL FOR 1/2 HOUR
  2. TRANSFER THE SOAKED DAL IN PRESSURE COOKER
  3. ADD WATER, CHOPPED LAUKI
  4. ADD HALDI, CHILLI POWDER
  5. SALT, PEPPER POWDER
  6. BAY LEAF, ELAICHI
  7. ADD TOMATOES AND ALLOW 2 WHISTLES
  8. AFTER THE DAL IS COOKED, ADD CORIANDER LEAVES.
  9. MEANWHILE, HEAT OIL/GHEE, ADD CUMIN SEEDS AND RED CHILLI
  10. WHEN THEY CRACKLE ADD CHOPPED TOMATOES
  11. WHEN TOMATOES BECOMES TENDER, PUT THIS CHAUK IN THE DAL
  12. MIX PROPERLY, AND ADD GARAM MASALA
