Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Aata 1 cup
  2. Jaggeri 3/4 cup
  3. Water roughly 1 cup
  4. Ghee 2 teaspoon
  5. Fenal sheeds 3/4 teaspoon
  6. Crushed cardamom 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Shredded coconut 2 table spoon
  8. Vegetable oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. MELT 3/4 CUP JAGGERY IN A NONSTICK PAN, ADD 1 CUP WATER
  2. BRING TO A BOIL, SIMMER UNTIL THE JAGGERY DISSOLVES IN WATER, TAKE OFF HEAT, ALLOW IT TO COOL
  3. TAKE 1 CUP WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, ADD 1/2 TSP CARDAMOM POWDER
  4. ADD 1/4 TSP FENNEL SEEDS
  5. ADD 2 TBSP GHEE
  6. ADD THE WARM JAGGERY SYRUP
  7. MIX WELL
  8. KNEED INTO A TIGHT DOUGH
  9. ADD 2 TBSP GRATED COCONUT
  10. SHAPE SMALL BALLS OUT OF THE READY DOUGH, FLATTEN THEM OUT
  11. PRESS DOWN & MARK WITH DESIGNS LIKE THIS
  12. DEEP FRY IN HOT OIL ON LOW HEAT
  13. FLIP & FRY FROM BOTH SIDES
  14. TAKE OFF HEAT ONCE GOLDEN BROWN & CRISP
  15. ALLOW THEM TO COOL, STORE IN AN AIR TIGHT CONTAINER
