ABOUT Besan ki Sabzi RECIPE

Besan when cooked and sauted in oil becomes so tasty to eat. Kids like to eat without gravy as well. I made this sabji without onion garlic so that the taste of besan is enhanced and goes well for children.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For besan pieces
  2. Besan - 250 gms
  3. Haldi - 1/2 tspn
  4. Chilli powder - 1/2 tspn
  5. Pepper powder - 1/4 tspn
  6. Water
  7. Salt
  8. Oil
  9. For gravy
  10. Tomato -1
  11. Bay leaf - 1
  12. Red chilli - 1
  13. Cumin seeds -1/4 tspn
  14. Haldi - 1/2 tspn
  15. Chilli powder -1/2 tspn
  16. Pepper powder - 1/4 tspn
  17. Salt
  18. Water
  19. Oil

Instructions

  1. TAKE 250 GMS GRAM FLOUR
  2. ADD 1/2 TSP TURMERIC, 1/4 TSP PEPPER, 1/2 TSP RED CHILLI POWDERS
  3. ADD SALT, SUFFICIENT WATER TO MAKE A PASTE
  4. MIX WELL TO AVOID LUMPS
  5. COOK THE MIXTURE ON LOW HEAT, STIRRING CONSTANTLY
  6. IT WILL START TURNING THICK
  7. COOK TILL DRY & THICK LIKE THIS
  8. COOL THE COOKED GRAM FLOUR MIX, KNEAD & MAKE A ROLL
  9. DIVIDE THE ROLL INTO 5 EQUAL PARTS
  10. MAKE A ROLL OUT OF THEM
  11. PLACE ALL THE ROLLS ON AN OIL-GREASED PLATE, SET ASIDE TO REST FOR 20 MINS
  12. NOW CUT INTO SMALL PIECES
  13. SHALLOW FRY IN HOT OIL FOR 5 MINS UNTIL CRISP
  14. SET ASIDE WHEN DONE
  15. HEAT OIL, ADD 1 TSP CUMIN SEEDS, 1 DRY RED CHILLI, 1 BAY LEAF
  16. MIX 1/2 TSP EACH OF TURMERIC, RED CHILLI & CORIANDER, 1/4 TSP PEPPER POWDERS, WATER, 1 TOMATO
  17. ADD THE TOMATO MASALA MIX
  18. ADD SALT, SAUTE FOR 5 MINS
  19. ADD WATER & GRAM FLOUR LEFTOVER FROM COOKING, THIS MAKES THE GRAVY THICK
  20. ADD THE FRIED GRAM FLOUR ROUNDS, BRING TO A BOIL, SERVE HOT WITH ROTI / RICE
