ABOUT Cheese Stuffed Spinach Buns RECIPE

These pillowy soft buns are made using spinach and green garlic in outer layer,stuffed with cheese inside.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Flour 1 &1/2 cup
  2. Oil 2 tbsp
  3. Spinach puree 1/2 cup
  4. Green garlic 1/4 cup
  5. Salt
  6. Milk 1/4 cup
  7. Active dry yeast 3/4 tbsp
  8. Sugar 1 tbsp
  9. For stuffing:
  10. Cottage cheese 150 gms
  11. Processed cheese 3 cubes
  12. Green chillies 2
  13. Salt 1/2 tsp
  14. Black pepper 1/2 tsp
  15. For brushing:
  16. Milk 1 tbsp
  17. Butter 2 tbsp
  18. Green garlic. 1 tsp
  19. Cilantro 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1/4 CUP WARM MILK, ADD 1 TBSP SUGAR
  2. ADD 3/4 TBSP ACTIVE DRY YEAST, STIR & SET ASIDE TO PROOF FOR 10 MINS
  3. TAKE 1.5 CUPS ALL PURPOSE FLOUR, ADD SALT TO TASTE, 2 TBSP OIL
  4. ADD 1/4 CUP FINELY CHOPPED GREEN GARLIC, 1/2 CUP SPINACH PUREE
  5. ADD THE YEAST MIXTURE TO THE DOUGH
  6. KNEAD FOR 7-8 MINS, MAKE A SOFT, SMOOTH DOUGH
  7. APPLY OIL ON TOP, COVER & SET ASIDE FOR 1.5 HOURS
  8. FOR THE STUFFING : GRATE 150 GMS COTTAGE CHEESE
  9. ADD 3 CUBES OF CHEDDAR / MOZZARELLA CHEESE, 2-3 FINELY CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIES
  10. ADD 1/2 TSP EACH OF SALT & PEPPER POWDER, MIX WELL & SET ASIDE
  11. THE RESTED DOUGH HAS DOUBLED UP IN SIZE, PUNCH IT IN THE CENTRE
  12. MAKE A ROLL ON A FLOUR DUSTED FLAT SURFACE, CUT INTO EQUAL PORTIONS
  13. MAKE ROUND BALLS FROM EACH PORTION
  14. TAKE A BALL, FLATTEN OUT THE EDGES LIKE THIS
  15. ADD 1 TBSP READY CHEESE STUFFING IN THE CENTRE
  16. BRING THE EDGES TOGETHER, SEAL & MAKE A BALL
  17. GET ALL THE STUFFED BALLS READY LIKE THIS
  18. PLACE ON A BAKING TRAY, BRUSH WITH OIL
  19. SPRINKLE SESAME SEEDS ON TOP, PRESS LIGHTLY, SET ASIDE TO REST FOR 45 MINS
  20. GIVE A MILK WASH TO THE BUNS, BAKE IN A PREHEATED OVEN AT180 DEGREES FOR 20-22 MINS UNTIL GOLDEN
  21. BRUSH THE HOT BUNS WITH CORIANDER-GREEN GARLIC BUTTER
  22. SEE HOW SOFT THE BUNS HAVE TURNED OUT
  23. SLICE & SERVE, TRY THEM, THEY'RE YUM
