ABOUT Masala Arbi RECIPE

I have cooked this Taro Root (arbi) in mustard, cooking it in mustard make this Arbi masala very delicious.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Arbi(colocasia / taro root)-1 kg (peeled, washed and chopped )
  2. garlic cloves(peeled)-5-6
  3. Green chilli-2-3 sliced
  4. Tomato(chopped)-1(large)
  5. turmeric powder-1 tsp
  6. Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  7. cumin Seeds-1 tsp
  8. coriander seeds-1 tbsp
  9. Black pepper(whole)-1/3 tsp
  10. Mustard seeds-1 tsp
  11. salt to taste
  12. lemon juice-1 tsp
  13. Cooking oil-4 tbsp

Instructions

  1. HEAT 4 TBSP OIL IN A PAN.
  2. ADD ARBI CUT INTO ROUNDALS. FRY IT TILL GOLDEN AND TAKE OUT.
  3. CUMIN SEEDS-1 TSP CORIANDER SEEDS-1 TBSP BLACK PEPPER-1/3 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS-1 TSP GARLIC CLOVES(PEELED)-5-6 GRIND ALL THESE INTO A FINM PASTE WITH LITTLE WATER
  4. ADD GARLIC PASTE IN LEFTOVER OIL AND COOK .
  5. ADD 1 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER, 1 TSP TURMERIC POWDER, SALT TO TASTE AND 1/2 TSP GARAM MASALA
  6. MIX IT WELL
  7. COVER IT AND COOK FOR 2-3 MINUTES, ADD 2-3 TBSP WATER, TO AVOID STICKING TO THE BOTTOM.
  8. WHEN THE OIL SEPARATES ADD 1 CHOPPED TOMATO AND 2 GREEN CHILLI CUT INTO HALF.
  9. COVER IT AND LET IT COOK FOR 2-3 MINUTES, TILL THE OIL SEPARATES.
  10. WHEN THE OIL SEPARATES ADD 1 CUP OF WATER
  11. WHEN WATER START BOILING ADD FRIED ARBI AND MIX WELL
  12. COVER THE LID AND COOK FOR 5-6 MINUTES
  13. SPRINKLE 1 SLICED ONION AND MIX WELL
  14. COVER FOR 1 MORE MINUTE
  15. CHECK, IF IT IS COOKED , OFF THE FLAME.
  16. ADD 1 TSP LEMON JUICE AND MIX WELL
  17. SPRINKLE 1 TSP FENUGREEK LEAVES
  18. SERVE HOT WITH CHAPATI OR RICE
