Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. basmati rice - 1.5 cups
  2. salt
  3. Carrots - 1/4 th cup
  4. Whole garam masala [cinnamon, cloves, cardamom] - 4
  5. Biryani masala - 1 tbsp
  6. beans - 1/4 th cup
  7. Green peas - 1/4 th cup
  8. Onion - 2 [sliced]
  9. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  10. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  11. Tejpatta - 1
  12. Ghee
  13. Curd - 1/2 cup


  1. Heat a heavy bottomed kadhai with some ghee, add the whole garam masalas, followed by the sliced onion. Saute until golden brown and then add the ginger garlic paste.
  2. Then add the chopped vegetable, followed by the powdered masalas. Then add the whisked curd and salt, cook until the masala leaves oil.
  3. While the vegetables are cooking, boil rice with a tejpatta, salt and little oil, in ample amount of water. Once the rice is almost dine, strain them.
  4. Now layer this rice on top of the vegetables and cover the kadhai, cook on a low flame for 30 minutes. rest and mix, serve with some raita on the side.
