1/2 cup semolina/suji/ rava
1/2 cup sugar
5-6 almonds chopped
5-6 cashew chopped
1 tsp kesari food colour
1 generous pinch of saffron
2 tbsp ghee
1 tsp cardamom powder
water as needed i used 2 cups
1 tbsp ghee for garnish
Sliced almonds for garnish
pistachio powder for garnish
saffron strands for garnish
Instructions
HEAT GHEE IN A PAN. ADD CHOPPED NUTS AND LET IT FRY TILL BROWN IN COLOUR.
ADD RAVA/ SUJI AND ROASTED IT IN GHEE. KEEP STIRRING. ROASTED IT FOR 2 MINUTES.
KEEP STIRRING..WE DON'T WANT BROWN COLOUR..
ADD FOOD COLOUR AND CARDAMOM POWDER. MIX WELL. ADD BOIL WATER IN IT.
MIX IT WELL . ADD WATER AS NEEDED. ADD SUGAR AND MIX EVERYTHING WELL..
ADJUST SUGAR IF NEEDED. ADD SAFFRON STRANDS.
IT STARTS THICKENED. ALL WATER ABSORBED. ADD 1TBSP GHEE IN IT. MIX IT WELL.
YOUR RAVA KESARI IS READY TO EAT.. GARNISH IT WITH SAFFRON STRANDS AND SLICED ALMONDS AND PISTACHIOS.. SERVE HOT..MAKE THIS RAKSHABANDHAN SPECIAL WITH THIS EASY QUICK AND YUMMY RECIPE.
