Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 2 tomatoes
  2. 2 onions chopped
  3. garlic 4 petals
  4. For modak filling
  5. Cocount 1/2cup
  6. oil 1 table spoon
  7. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  8. turmeric powder 1/2 tea spoon
  9. Garam masala 1/2 table spoon
  10. salt to taste
  11. peanuts 2 tbsp
  12. sesame 2 tbsp seeds
  13. Roasted chana 2 tbsp
  14. coriander seeds 2 tbsp
  15. Few curry leaves
  16. For modak covering
  17. Gram flour 1 cup
  18. salt to taste
  19. onion 2 no.

Instructions

  1. FRY 2 TBSP EACH OF PEANUTS, SEASAME SEEDS, ROASTED CHANA, CORIANDER SEEDS & CURRY LEAVES
  2. ADD 2 GREEN CHILLIES, STIR
  3. COOL,GRIND & SET ASIDE
  4. IN 1/2 CUP COCOUNT, ADD 2 TBSP GARAM MASALA, 1/2 TSP EACH OF TURMERIC & RED CHILLI & SALT TO TASTE, SET ASIDE
  5. TAKE 1 CUP GRAM FLOUR, 1/2 TSP EACH OF TURMERIC, RED CHIILI & 1 TBSP OIL AND KNEAD INTO A DOUGH
  6. DIVIDE DOUGH INTO SMALL PIECES AND FLATTEN THEM
  7. FILL FLATTENED ROTIS WITH MODAK FILLING
  8. SHAPE INTO MODAKS
  9. IN 1 TBSP HOT OIL, ADD 1/2 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS, CURRY LEAVES & GROUND MASALA
  10. ADD THE PUREE OF 2 ONIONS, 2 TOMATOES, 4 GARLIC CLOVES
  11. ADD 1/2 TSP EACH OF RED CHIILI, GARAM MASALA & HALDI & SALT TO TASTE
  12. STIR MASALA, ADD SALT TO TASTE & THE PREPARED MODAKS
  13. ADD CORIANDER, TAKE OFF HEAT
  14. SERVE WITH ROTI OR RICE
